Smokeless Cannabis Remedies (SCRs) come in all strengths, shapes, and sizes.  Dosing with each one will depend on what you are treating as well as the strength of the remedy at hand.  It also depends on the carrier oil, if there is one, and the “port of entry”.

Tincture and suppositories are some of the fastest acting SCRs, and they have a lasting effect as well.  Capsules can take an hour on average to work, so you have to plan your doses but that isn’t so difficult. The fastest acting SCR would be Massage oil or Super Salve. Topically applied products (“topicals”) can be safely used anywhere, most often with scent not being an issue as essential oils or fragrances can be added to mask the Cannabis scent if present.

We don’t make cookies and the like for patients, but when you do … make sure and start small on the doses, and most especially if you didn’t make it yourself.  One customer was recently telling us of an experience that wasn’t fun when they had their first cookie that was a gift from a dispensary.  Spinning rooms and feeling like you’re going to be sick is too much like an alcohol feeling, don’t eat too much and know your “baker”!

When taking the capsules, you really need to be sure you are giving them enough time to take effect.  Timing is everything, so don’t wait until your pain is at its worst to dose… it’s called, “staying ahead of the pain”.  As you are aware, you must GET ahead of the pain before you can stay ahead of it.  Sometimes a patient must take 3 or 4 capsules to get the pain under control, then taking 1 or 2 every 4 to 6 hours is all that is needed.  One suppository taken at the same time as one capsule is a great way to obtain long-lasting relief.

The most important part of using Smokeless Cannabis Remedies is … to use them!  They will do you no good sitting in the refrigerator or freezer or on the shelf.  They may seem expensive at first, but they’re worthless if you don’t use them.  You’ll know their value once your body reaches homeostasis and wellness.
